We are looking for a highly experienced Oracle DBA with Exadata Cloud expertise to support migration, administration, and performance optimization of Oracle databases in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
This role involves working on mission-critical systems, ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Exadata administration, cloud operations, and SQL performance tuning, along with hands-on Linux experience.
- Lead and support migration of on-premises databases to Oracle Exadata Cloud (OCI)
- Administer and manage Exadata systems in cloud environments
- Perform installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades
- Manage Oracle databases including RAC, ASM, and Data Guard
- Perform regular database maintenance and lifecycle management
- Optimize SQL queries using execution plans and indexing strategies
- Analyse AWR, ASH, and ADDM reports to identify performance issues
- Tune memory structures (SGA, PGA, buffer cache)
- Improve RAC performance, load balancing, and system stability
- Monitor system performance across compute, storage, and network
- Troubleshoot complex database and infrastructure issues
- Implement proactive monitoring and capacity planning
- Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies
- Ensure data security, access control, and compliance
- Maintain high availability of critical systems
- Automate tasks using Shell, Python, Ansible, or Terraform
- Support CI/CD processes and infrastructure automation
- Collaborate with DBAs, cloud architects, and application teams
- Document architecture, processes, and best practices
- Drive continuous improvements and performance optimization
- Strong experience as an Oracle DBA
- Hands-on experience with Oracle Exadata systems
- Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
- Strong expertise in: SQL performance tuning, Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard and Database migration to Exadata Cloud
- Hands-on Linux experience
- Experience with: AWR, ASH, ADDM performance analysis and Backup & disaster recovery strategies
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Experience with scripting (Shell, Python, etc.)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, or related field
- Equivalent work experience is acceptable
